About me

Hi, my name is Elena Karapancheva, you may ask yourself why VSELENA, but I can explain that in the next lines.

VSELENA has a very powerful meaning in my native language. The word means ‘UNIVERSE’ in Bulgarian and that’s exactly where I was born. It not only contains my entire name but it also conceptually represents the world I live in and my perception of it. The universe itself is infinite and that is something I want to believe my personality is.

I am an artist for quite a few years now. I have been interested in art from an early age and 12 years later, here I am. I haven’t stopped creating since the moment I realised that is going to be the focus of my reality and a future way of living.

I started learning the basics of the fine art and graphic drawing in 6th grade and focused on developing my skills and talent. Later in high school I decided I want to be a fashion designer and spent the next 5 years into learning the niche craft of the clothing.

After graduating high school with professional qualification diploma in Fashion Design I started reconsidering my career path. At university I started specialising in digital illustration and graphic design. This experience gave me a lot of confidence in the technologies field and the computer science.

Immediately after graduating De Montfort University, Leicester, UK with Graphic Design and Illustration BA honours, I got the opportunity to further develop my metaverse knowledge by taking a 6 month Virtual Reality internship back in my hometown Sofia, Bulgaria. This was phenomenal for my growth as an artist because it allowed me to create in 3 dimensional space. If I have to be honest, when I put the headset on, I can spend a whole working day in drawing an enormously huge environment as if it is a real life scene. Creating multiple business, game and fashion oriented scenes for clients was a real pleasure.

Lately, I have been working as a freelance Graphic Designer and photography Retoucher. Yes, you read that correctly, retouching is the latest sphere of my art exploring path. My passion for aesthetic photography has led the perfectionist in me to a whole new level. So here I am editing portrait and editorial photography for social media, magazines and websites. I am currently working with some of the biggest brands in the fashion industry. Unfortunately you can not see these in my portfolio because of privacy and consent reasons.

Ever since, I have explored so many different design oriented fields in order to find what truly makes me feel as the artist I am now. In this portfolio you will also find some macro photography, e-learning development, VR art, and many other extraordinary pieces.
